Vista<->Vista network issues
I recently bought a vista notebook to complement my vista desktop, and I have had file sharing issues. Both computers identify the other computer on the network, and I have allowed file sharing with password protection off on both machines. When adding a file to the public folder, the folder is not showing up on the other computer. I do not know if this has anything to do with it, but there is also a public folder with a networked icon under the network section in the profile viewer. This folder cannot be accessed by my notebook or by the desktop with each's respective public folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Have you checked your firewall (trust) settings of both computers? The Public folder is already set up by default with the appropriate security and share permissions, so this is probably not the source of the problem (unless you've tinkered with them...). Please go through my detailed check list at http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1683125&SiteID=17 and let us know if you still can't access after having attempted al the steps?
